I’m a former organic farmer with degrees in biology and environmental studies. I currently work as a sustainability consultant in the corporate world, but I spend as much time as possible exploring and learning all that I can from the natural world. I have expertise in cultivated fruit and vegetable production and I strive to produce as much of my own food as possible to reduce my environmental impact and enjoy the satisfaction of self-sufficiency (also fresh food just tastes better!).
My undergraduate thesis project involved mapping every known location of the Mountain Purple Pitcher Plant in the mountains of western North Carolina and Georgia. The data I collected is currently being used by the Fish and Wildlife Service to reviewing its listing status.
My wife and I are fairly new to western PA and would like to use this platform to find like-minded people to explore nature and cook foraged/home grown meals with us.
