Mushroom Hunting — Hen Of The Woods & Honey Mushroom

I’m not sure if you’ve explored the woods lately.  If you haven’t, I’ll fill you in…

A pair of wild fungi — Hen Of The Woods (Grifola frondosa) and the Honey Mushroom (Armillaria mellea)have announced the early arrival of autumn (…or at the very least, they’ve announced the impending arrival of autumn)!

While both mushrooms are typically classified as “Fall Fungi,” recent sightings and harvests are being reported all across their natural ranges.

And that’s a good thing, in many regards, because Hen Of The Woods and the Honey Mushroom are edible mushrooms.  What’s more, they’re both prolific fruiters.

Qualities like these excite many mushroom hunters this time of year, and if you’re eager to participate in the early harvest, consider checking out this brand new video first!
