I am a naturalist working at the Crooked Creek Environmental Learning Center at Crooked Creek Lake Park near Ford City, PA. My formal background is in microbiology and water quality. I like to monitor stream quality using macroinvertebrates as indicators. I also interested in trees, wildflowers, ferns and insects. The Crooked Creek Environmental Learning Center has a very nice display of various mounted animals which provide a nice backdrop for talks on animal adaptations as well.
The Crooked Creek Environmental Learning Center is leased from the US Army Corps of Engineers and is a multi-use facility dedicated to environmental education and responsible resource conservation. We rent the facility for meetings, workshops, and retreats. We have a full kitchen and bunkhouse which can accommodate ~32 people. We also work with schools to provide field experiences for students of all ages. Additionally we offer programs for the public and are always looking for presenters.
