Early Summer Mushroom Hunting — What’s Out Right Now?

Let’s talk about early summer mushroom hunting.

While June may not seem to be the most prolific time of year to browse the land in search of mushrooms, plenty of fungi can certainly be found.  Walking the woods after a good rainfall and scanning mossy slopes are helpful tips when it comes to locating early summer mushrooms.

Recently, I explored the land here in Pennsylvania in search of interesting and overlooked mushrooms.  Some of these mushrooms are edible, some are toxic, and some are just plain fascinating.
